Max Tofone is a music copyist & engraver based in Switzerland. He is a graduate from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow/Scotland where he obtained a BA in Musical Studies and Electro-acoustic Music Composition.
It is during his Academy years that he started to develop a fascination towards music notation and ultimately for music engraving.
Max is an expert user of the notation software Sibelius which is his main working tool and has been used since the early days when the software was only available for the Acorn computer platform.
Max Tofone is also the author of two didactic books on the use of Sibelius: “Street Smart Guide to Sibelius 5” and “Street Smart Guide to Sibelius 6”.
Over the years he has worked in different functions for notable composers and institutions such as Sally Beamish, Rory Boyle, Alexander Publishing, Scottish Music Information Centre and many others.
Max's work has been praised for its accuracy, elegance, meticulous eye and attention to details and ultimately for his professionalism in dealing with every aspect of music preparation to satisfy his client's desires and expectations.
